Land of Holistic Pets is the perfect sponsorship fit for our own brand. Whilst Badger is known for his toast penchant, he does eat dog-food in the books. Book two in our series focuses on healthy eating for dogs, as we have a Chihuahua called Cheryl who has a really bad diet eating fajhitas. Then she meets Badger and his chums, who make it their mission to help her change her eating habits. Also Badger and Land of Holistic Pets have a strong Ayrshire connection. I’ve now changed my own dog’s diet over to their Luath Holistic Nutrition range of dry dog food”.
Badger, the mystical Mutt co-author and illustrator Laura Jackson said:
“We are delighted to be partnered with Land of Holistic Pets. It enable’s every child, to get a free Badger gift, after meeting him live ‘in the fur’ at an event. There is no need for purchase of a book. As soon as I spotted Spirulina as one of the ingredients in the Luath range, I knew we were on the same page in terms of healthy pet nutrition. I didn’t know that Robert Burns’ dog was called Luath. It really does feel like Rabbie’s’ ‘Twa Dogs’ have met up again. Although Badger may think he’s the bees knees, he’s definitely not a toff”
George Burns, Land of Holistic Pets said:
“Land of Holistic Pets is proud to be supporting Badger and feeding him his favourite food.”
The Badger series of illustrated books for 5 – 9 year olds, subtly addresses, with humour, issues such as bullying, disability and prejudice. Friendship and self-belief is at the core of all the books.

Renowned children’s author, Cathy Cassidy said: “A fun, fast-paced romp of a read for younger readers…terrific stuff!”

The health benefits of this oil is almost limitless so I am going to stick with a few although even this list has a lot of reading. Because it’s over 90% saturated fat, so-called health gurus labeled it unhealthy. However, the fat content is actually beneficial in coconut oil, as it’s rich in nutrients, helps your body absorb fat-soluble vitamins, and is full of antioxidant properties. Many people ask me if its better than Salmon oil and the answer is yes – Salmon oil deteriorates when exposed to heat light or Oxygen – in other words the minute it is exposed it starts to go rancid and the Long chain fatty acids (Omega 3) get bent. Candida is a fungus, a form of yeast, naturally present in our digestive tract. It helps with our digestion and absorption of nutrients.
In times of stress and contributing factors listed below Candida can multiply and grow out of control. This overgrowth can result in your digestive system showing signs of abnormal behaviour as well as the development of toxins.

Auld Lang Syne has been a popular song around the world particularly in the English speaking communities. I have heard the song sung in Japanese and Russian but when I ask people who wrote the song that is another matter. Robert Burns, Scotland national poet is credited with writing it in 1788 but it was another song that took my interest in regards to Land Of Holistic Pets. The poem was called The Twa Dugs – translated from Scot’s dialect to The Two Dogs. Continue reading →
With regards to dogs there are still many questions that don’t have a definitive answers – one of which is why do dogs eat grass? Grass is all around us and while we understand why horses and cows graze on grass, dogs are a different matter.
Some owners see dogs as carnivores and generally averse to vegetables, why is it that they sometimes seem to feel compelled to graze on a patch of the green stuff? So it is only natural that, having seen dogs eating grass from time to time, that we ask the question why do they do it?
Land Of Holistic Pet took the opportunity at the recent PATS trade show to launch our revolutionary new grain free mixer for dogs. In doing so, we won the prestigious award of best product in show in the category of dog food and treats.
As one of the judges pointed out – “there is nothing like it in the dog food market and the price is spot of for dog owners’
The recipe was developed by George Burns and was selected from more than 270 new dog and cat food entries. The Robbie’s Grain Free mixer has been specially developed to be hypo-allergenic, wheat and gluten free and exclusive of any additives.
The Grain free mixer uses grade one potatoes flakes as the main ingredient and combines it with vegetables and herbs. Owners must add in their own protein and oil into the mix to create a dog meal almost like home cooking or as one owner commented – dinners for dogs.
Using Robbie’s Grain free mixer for dogs along with a high quality protein source then the idea of a home cooked dog diner becomes a very realistic proposition.
